Abstract_pl:W książce "The Intelligent Design Debate and the Temptation of Scientism" Erkki Kojonen argumentuje, że w sporze o ewolucję i inteligentny projekt da się dostrzec tendencję do przyznawania większej wartości twierdzeniom nauk przyrodniczych niż rozważaniom filozoficznym lub teologicznym, czyli do preferowania scjentyzmu. ; Według Kojonena ta tendencja widoczna jest zwłaszcza w kładzeniu nacisku na zagadnienie, czy teoria inteligentnego projektu, mająca stanowić alternatywę dla teorii ewolucji, jest koncepcją naukową, oraz w krytyce, którą zwolennicy teorii inteligentnego projektu kierują w stronę teistycznego ewolucjonizmu. ; Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie toku rozumowania Kojonena oraz ocena jego tezy o pokusie scjentyzmu w debacie między teorią ewolucji a teorią inteligentnego projektu, biorąc za podstawę poglądy teoretyków projektu.
Abstract:In his book "The Intelligent Design Debate and the Temptation of Scientism", Erkki Kojonen argues that in the debate on evolution and intelligent design, there is a tendency to attach greater value to scientific claims than to philosophical or theological considerations, i.e., a preference for scientism. ; According to Kojonen, this tendency is particularly evident in the emphasis placed on the question of whether intelligent design theory - which is supposed to be an alternative to the theory of evolution - is a scientific concept, and in the criticism of theistic evolutionism expressed by proponents of intelligent design theory. ; The aim of this paper is to present Kojonen`s argument and to evaluate his thesis on the temptation of scientism in the debate between the theory of evolution and intelligent design theory, based on the views of design theorists.
