<dc:description xml:lang="en"><![CDATA[The presence of excessively acid deposits on the surface of waste heaps is a characteristic problem, difficult to solve in the reclamation of the post-mining areas of brown coal mining. These deposits are some of the most difficult to reclaim [Skawina and Trafas 1971, Krzaklewski 1988]. The present paper describes an experiment set up on the toxically acid surface deposits of the outer waste heap of "Bełchatów" brown coal mine in spring 1995.]]></dc:description>
<dc:description xml:lang="en"><![CDATA[There were 5 neutralizers, each used in 2 doses, which - including the "zero" one - yielded 11 combinations, each in 3 repetitions. The experiment was set up using the random block method with the field size of 30 m2. Various neutralizers were used in different doses, calculated according to the equal CaO content in them.]]></dc:description>
<dc:description xml:lang="en"><![CDATA[These were: oxide lime (70% CaO), carbonate lime (45% CaO), bog lime from "Bełchatów" brown coal mine (35% CaO), ash from the burning of brown coal in "Bełchatów" power plant, and phosphorite flour (40% CaO and 30% P2O5). After two years (in autumn 1997), Scotch pine was introduced in the area.]]></dc:description>
