Abstract_pl:

Podręcznik przeznaczony jest dla studentów filologii angielskiej na poziomie C2. 25 jednostek lekcyjnych proponuje tematy poruszające między innymi kwestie samorozwoju, media społecznościowe, wartość pracy i edukacji czy też problem emigracji. Proponowane ćwiczenia zawierają zagadnienia do indywidualnej analizy i pracę w parach. Ćwiczenia rozwijające sprawność mówienia obejmują odpowiedzi na pytania, komentarz do postawionych tez, cytatów, materiałów opublikowanych na stronach internetowych i fragmentów teksu z literatury pięknej. Każda jednostka lekcyjna zawiera również ćwiczenia rozwijające i utrwalające słownictwo związane z omawianym tematem. Podręcznik opiera się na założeniu, że studenci filologii angielskiej postrzegają język przede wszystkim jako narzędzie wyrażania siebie. Wyrażając swoje zdanie na poruszane kwestie będą mogli lepiej zrozumieć siebie i otaczającą ich rzeczywistość.

Abstract:

The book is intended for English philology students at C2 level. 25 units propose topics ranging from self-development, social media, value of work and education to the problem of immigrants. Speaking activities include tasks for individual consideration and pair work. Students respond to questions, comment on quotes or excerpts from online materials or literature. Each unit practices and consolidates vocabulary on a discussed topic. The concept of the book rests upon the principle that English philology students perceive language not only as the object of study but mainly as a tool for self-expression. Analysing and expressing their opinion on the proposed topics students will be able to better understand themselves and the world around them.
