The volume presents research results and good practices in production engineering developed through collaboration between academic institutions and industry.]]></dc:description>
<dc:description xml:lang="pl"><![CDATA[The first part focuses on models and mechanisms of science-business cooperation. It includes a proposal for a multi-stage model for initiating and developing relationships between research centres and the business environment; an overview of Collegium Witelona State University`s activities - covering dual education, R&D projects, and academic entrepreneurship; and an analysis of the experiences of Poltra Ltd. in cooperating with universities on the design of cutting tools, including implementation-oriented doctoral programmes. It is complemented by a description of a cross-border Polish-Slovak network of research institutions oriented towards the digital factory concept and technology transfer to SMEs.]]></dc:description>
<dc:description xml:lang="pl"><![CDATA[The second part presents concrete outcomes of industry?academic partnerships. These include: the application of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, VSM) in a food-industry R&D laboratory; the development and patenting of a capless pilgrim rolling method for steel tubes, carried out in cooperation with Rurexpol and the Częstochowa University of Technology; the implementation of Siemens NX MCD software for virtual prototyping of furniture industry machinery; proactive rotational task scheduling with a forgetting-effect model to maintain employee competencies; and the development and deployment of an integrated IT system for business process management in a workwear rental company, executed as an R&D project with the Military University of Technology.]]></dc:description>
