Plant selection for remedial works was carried out on the basis of many years observations on selected landfills as well as greenhouse and laboratory experiments. Both selection criteria and possibilities of plant usage presented in the text are connected with other remedial works undertaken on the landfill. Compost made of wastes and leachate pumped to landfill surface irrigation in recirculation system are also applied during remediation process. Proposed plant species make evapotranspiration higher and are more resistant against hypertrophy.
