The aim of this article is to specify which factors determine decisions concerning ity inhabitants` school choices. During the analysis of colleted empirial material, I intend to verify the hypothesis claiming that the area in a city where the school is situated has less and less influence on young people`s eduational choices.}, abstract={It appears that, during making such decisions, youngsters tend to consider a partiular shool`s reputation and position, not the distance between the school and their place of living. Due to this fact, schools are becoming institutions which can potentially generate spatial movement among citizens. I found one problem particularly interesting, namely, whether schools have become places assembling students of a similar social position and status. It an be observed that students whose parents have higher education and jobs of high social recognition more often attend "better" schools.}, type={artykuł}, title={Wybory edukacyjne mieszkańców miast = City inhabitants` educational choices - the case of Zielona Góra}, keywords={edukacja, miasto, mieszkańcy miast}, }
