 abstract={The article is an attempt at a periodic division of Polish and Czech language devel- opment based on Stanisław Borawski`s theory. Borawski introduced the concept of dividing the history of a language into the area of how its structure was shaped (internal history) and the area of its usage (external history). This is no mere shift in terminology, but a separate approach in research which allows i. a. for an explanation of differences that occur in the development of two related languages - Polish and Czech in this case. Therein lies the value of the described method when applied.},
