 abstract={The article presents how sight reading was introduced at the Wladislaw Zelenski Secondary Music School as a separate subject for young pianists. This "new" subject was a result of a reform that gave music schools some freedom in shaping the curriculums. The solo-oriented teaching process has always neglected sight reading, even though it is an essenial part of piano curriculum. Starting new classes was an attempt to change this situation. The article describes the initial assumptions, teaching methods and presents reflections gathered from practice.},
