 abstract={The concept of historical fact is a fundamental methodological category in historical research. Apparently it seems to be an obvious and common sense concept among historians. In research, however, we can observe a different understanding of fact ranging from a positivist approach, emphasizing its objective existence to a postmodernist orientation that denies this objectivity. Between these two extremes there are numerous indirect nuances making the theory of historical fact one of the main problems of contemporary theory of history.},
