 abstract={Methods for winter road maintenance, currently used in most countries are dependent on the accepted standards of road maintenance. Observed year-on-year increase in the amount used in Europe and in the world of chemicals (mainly sodium chloride, NaCl), forces the road to the services to take appropriate steps to limit the amount of sodium chloride, commonly used in favor of more modern means of which may be more effective for pavement, while more safe for the environment. The article presents the effectiveness of these measures and identifies the most effective substances.},
