It includes a proposal for a multi-stage model for initiating and developing relationships between research centres and the business environment; an overview of Collegium Witelona State University`s activities - covering dual education, R&D projects, and academic entrepreneurship; and an analysis of the experiences of Poltra Ltd. in cooperating with universities on the design of cutting tools, including implementation-oriented doctoral programmes. It is complemented by a description of a cross-border Polish-Slovak network of research institutions oriented towards the digital factory concept and technology transfer to SMEs.}, abstract={The second part presents concrete outcomes of industry?academic partnerships.
