The presence of the senior citizens in the library requires to be noticed and it requires revising the library's offer. It is all the more difficult, as in today's world ageing and problems connected with this process are marginalised and not acceptable socially.However, the elderly people are an important social class, at least because of the fact that its number is still growing. Library can be an attractive place for them,as it is widespread, accessible, universal and its service is free of charge. There are more and more publications about the senior citizens in the library and the institutions' activities which both confirm the importance of the problem and define the challenges for the librarians. The libraries' activities for the senior citizens are aimed at counteracting their social exclusion and digital divide.
