 abstract={The C. Norwid Voivodeship and City Public Library in Zielona Góra was opened on May 3rd, 1947. For more than half a century of its activity, it has not only been a cultural institution, but it has also carried out scientific activities, mainly expanding and collecting the scientific book collection and developing scientific research on library sciences (information science and other fields). The delegated legislation on September 19th, 2001 affirmed the C. Norwid Voivodeship and City Public Library in Zielona Góra as a scientific library. Between the years 2002-2012 the C. Norwid Voivodeship and City Public Library in Zielona Góra carried out activities that led to confirming its status as a scientific library in the delegated legislation on April 2nd, 2012. The library's activities were: organizing scientific conferences and seminars on themes of the Środkowe Nadodrze [Middle Oder]region and readership. Initiating organization of the library science seminars as a new form of meetings and the subsequent editions of the Lubuski Wawrzyn Literacki [regional literary honours] was also an important aspect. The library's scientific activities are also: editorial works of the Pro Libris publishing house,publishing activity of the library's workers, research on readership, organizing exhibitions, joining the project of Zielona Góra Digital Library, record-keepingof the Lubusz Land Bibilography and opening the Norwid Digital Reading Room.},
