 abstract={The issues connected with borders and borderlines are gaining a new dimension in global processes conditions. The objective of this article is to demonstrate the new criteria of the recognition of boarders. The notions of a border and a borderline are ambiguous and they are presented in many different ways by various disciplines. We most often point out the social, cultural and territorial dimension of boarders.},
 abstract={Borders and borderlines can be articulated either in a literary or imaginary way. Therefore it is vital to establish or discover borders and the functions they serve. This, in turn, is connected with the problem of crossing or eliminating borders. The notion of space is one of the important issues related to the perception of borders and borderlines. In the conditions of globalization processes we talk, among the others, about the shrinkage of the world, crossing borders or rapid flow of information.},
 abstract={New dynamics, characteristic for globalization processes, seems to eliminate many of the previously existing borders. This is, among the others, due to the creation of a global society, abolition of borders between local and global aspects, economic relationships encompassing the entire globe or the changes in the formula of the nation-state, citizenship, sovereignty and national identity. However, it needs to be noted, that this new dynamics of globalization processes provides opportunities for the creation of new borders and borderlines, both real and imaginary.},
