Presented are selected components of the forest ecosystem reconstructed in the course of reclamation begun 25 years ago in the internal dumping ground of the open pit D in the former mine \"Przyjaźń Narodów\" of Łęknica. The dumping ground was an example of phytotoxic formations appearing on a large area and characterized by the highest degree ofdifficulty in its biological reclamation.
